Change and Grow

These are very strange times for us all at the moment, but it is a good time for us to talk about all the happy times we have had and all the lovely things we look forward to doing in the future.

Take time to talk to your family about your happy memories. Did you have a lovely time at your last birthday party? Were you excited when your baby brother or sister was born? Did you have a lot of fun when you went on holiday or on a trip with your family? When it was World Book Day, did you dress up as your favourite character? What was your favourite game at your class Christmas party? Were you excited when you started in your new class at the beginning of year?

Are you making happy memories at home now? Have you learnt something new? Are you able to do some baking, and make some cakes that your family think are delicious? Are you getting yourself really fit working out with Joe Wicks? Are you enjoying reading lots of stories?

Can you make a collage of pictures of all your happy memories? How about decorating a frame for it - what happy colours can you use?

It is important to remember that we will all have the opportunity to make some happy memories in the future, and we can think about how we can do that now. Have you ever heard of a bucket list? This is a list we make of all the things we would like to do in the future.

Let's draw a big bucket. On your bucket, write all the things you would like to do with your family and friends when things are back to normal. You might be looking forward to seeing your teachers again, or playing with your friends at playtime, or havig a movie night with your family, or going to the seaside. As you do each thing on your bucket list, you can colour it in a bright colour, and then see how colourful your bucket is at the end.

In the meantime, let's learn a new song, Change and Grow

Happy memories!
