3 Activities

Hello Everyone!

I have got 3 activities for you to try today.

1. Wake Up Shaker

You will need:

  1. Tube for the shaker - maybe a pringles tub or a kitchen roll
  2. Coloured paper and decorations
  3. Dried rice or pasta, or beads

If you are using a kitchen roll, draw 2 circle shapes on the coloured paper that are big enough to cover the ends. Cover one end to begin with, but leave the other end open for now.

Decorate your tube however you like,

Fill the tube with your rice or pasta.

Close the other end of the tube.

Your shaker is now ready to use  - can you shake it in time to the songs that we have been doing each week?

2 Paper Aeroplane

Using one piece of paper, can you make an aeroplane that will fly across the room? Does it fly further if the wings are bigger? What happens if you put a small piece of blu tac on the nose - does this make it fly better?

Try different designs for your plane - which one works best?

Have a paper aeroplane race with the other people in your house. WHo has got the best plane? Can you show us all a picture?

3 Happiness Jar

Ask your grown up for an empty jar. Decorate the jar as beautifully as you can.

Although life is quite strange at the moment, there are still lots of things around us that can make us feel happy. It might be the sunshine. It might be having a lot more time to play with your brothers or sisters. It might be having the chance to do some baking with your grown ups and making your favourite cakes. It might be learning to ride your bike. Whatever makes you feel happy today, write it or draw it on a piece of paper and put it in your happiness jar. Try and find something different each day that makes you happy, and see how quickly you can fill your jar. Then, if you are ever feeling sad, you will be able to to have a look the papers in your jar and choose to do one of the things that you know has made you happy.

Now all you need to do is to sing, and what better song to sing than 'Just Sing' -
