Use the tabs on the left to find out more information about the Governing Body for Ribbleton Avenue Infants.
The governing body is responsible, together with Mrs Bishop and the Senior Leadership Team, for the strategic leadership and management of the school. Governors also carry out particular responsibilities through sub-commitees: finance, health, safety and premises, curriculum and standards, personnel and policies. They establish with Mrs Bishop and the staff, the aims and policies of the school and how standards of education can continue to be improved through the School Development Plan and the use of the school budget. They ensure all curriculum and legal requirements are met.
Full governing body meetings are held three times through the year at the school. Copies of the agenda and minutes (of the non-confidential part of the meeting) are available at the school office.
Parents wishing to become Governors are encouraged to apply when vacancies arise.
If parents wish to contact a member of the Governing Body, a letter can be left at the school office.
Welcome to Ribbleton Avenue Infant School governing body of which I have been the Chair for over 2 years now. In that short space of time, I have become very familiar with the school and community it serves. The board of governors is a committed team with a wide range of skills, experience and community links who place the children at the centre of everything they do, and to be able to lead this team gives me great pleasure.
This is not the first school where I have been a board member, but every school is different and I find my involvement at Ribbleton Avenue Infant School to be a very rewarding experience.
Having two sons myself who have already been through the school system, I fully understand how important schooling is in keeping children safe, and providing them with the highest standards of education and the tools for their journey ahead. I can assure everyone that the governors and school team work closely to ensure the best education is being provided at all times.
The board members make regular visits into school as part of their role, and I can honestly say that visiting school and meeting the children is always a wonderful experience which everyone should all be proud of.
